Eastnor Castle Wedding Jennifer May 2011

I have had the pleasure to work with a lovely photographer by the name of Susie Mackie during this summer. The first wedding which we worked on was with the beautiful Jennifer at Eastnor Castle.

I spent a morning with Jennifer, her Mum, her sister and her two bridesmaids, in preparation for her marriage at Eastnor castle to Jon.

It was such a pleasure to do their make up for them. As you can see, Susie has the skill to create such beautiful images.

I had a great time on Saturday, doing a make up lesson for four 13 year old girls.

During the two hour party, we talked about the importance of skin care, how to choose the correct shade of foundation and how to create a smokey eye look.

Each girl had their own choice of make over by myself and a good time was had by all!

I am taking bookings in the Worcestershire area for teen make up parties.

£15.00 per person with a minimum of 4 girls per booking.

More Hagley Hall wedding photo shoot photographs

Thanks to the amazing photographer James Crockford, here are some more of my favourite photos from the Hagley Hall photo shoot.

I had great fun doing the make up for both models in this shoot. They look fantastic. I kept the make up subtle, using peachy tones to suit the model's skin tone, and of course, just concealer and powder for the boys!

Worcestershire bride pictures and testimonial

Kerry made me smile and feel very proud of what I do today.

It was over a year ago when I visited Kerry to do her make up on her wedding day in Kidderminster, May 2010.

Kerry apologised for the delay in writing to me with her feedback, but it was well worth the wait Kerry-thank you!

Here is Kerry's testimonial:-

"Hayley was the first make up artist (and there were many tried) to make me feel at ease and confident in having my make up done. My mom and I were amazed when Hayley arrived at my house with 2 big cases full of makeup and ready for anything! As a red head I found it hard having wedding make up trials as no one really seemed prepared for my colouring and struggled to strike a balance with my tones. Hayley on the other hand got it perfect first time. On the morning of my wedding Hayley arrived in plenty of time and kept me calm but excited during the process. My mom and I were both over the moon with the results and would recomend Hayley to anyone."

Preparing your skin for your wedding day- First steps

Ideally, the best time to start a simple skin care routine is from teens onwards, and I will be giving advice over the coming weeks, on  skin care and make up tips for all age groups.

For now, I am here to give all of you brides to be out there some useful skin care tips.

For many brides to be, it may be the first time that you have really looked at your skin and wanted to take steps to improve it for your big day.

I often meet brides several weeks prior to their wedding day, for their make up trial session, and one of their main concerns is the condition of their skin. I work with them to ensure that they are looking their very best.

It makes my job as a  make up artist much easier when working on skin which has been cared for. Those wedding photographs are also a real investment, so it is well worth doing your best to look as radiant as you possibly can in them.

Before you embark on your skin care journey, it is worth reading on....

The first step is to really find out what type of skin you have. It is well worth seeking professional advice, so that when you invest in your skin care system, you can be sure that the products will be suited to your particular skin type.

I speak to many people who have  invested in skin care sytems, only to discover that the products do not suit them as they have guessed their skin type. As a result they are left with a cupboard full of half used non-returnable products.

It is also worth researching skin care companies who offer a returns policy on skin care.

If it  is the first time that you have really followed a skin care routine, keep it simple. There are so many amazing products out there and it is tempting to grab them all.But If you try to take on too much, you may feel overwhelmed by the routine and gradually dwindle with your efforts.

A Simple routine of cleansing, toning and moisturing every morning and evening with the correct products, will make a significant improvement to your skin within in a short period. If you are uncertain with the application techniques, be sure to ask for advice from the professional who is recommending the products. They will explain excatly how to apply them.

The trick for scrummy skin is to be consistent with your routine and to regularly re-evaluate your skin type as you age, adjusting  your skin care products and routine accordingly.

Once you are feeling confident with your routine.......

More tips on preparing skin for you wedding day to come.

Clare –December 2010 EastnorCastle

Dear Hayley,

Thank you so much for helping to make my wedding day so very special. I was particularly nervous about my hair and make up and I didn’t want a traditionally ‘bridal image’ but to look and feel like a more beautiful version of myself. You were able to interpret exactly what I wanted and made me feel comfortable, relaxed and pampered, helping me to keep at bay the wedding nerves under control, at least until I made my entrance!.

Thank you again.

Clare.
